Light sensitive compound used in film emulsions. Only three halides of Silver have been used in emulsion-making (chloride, bromide and iodide) and of these only chloride has been used extensively alone.
Silver iodide emulsions are too insensitive for commercial use, and those containing silver bromide alone are rare.
