Search Hints

You can search through the Broadcast Sales catalogue using keywords OR by selecting a category OR a program type OR a combination of these.

Keywords

These might be

  • descriptive words or phrases (such as outback or world war)
  • a program title
  • a filmmaker’s name

You can use part of a word (eg austral will give you matches for Australia, Australian, Australians and Australiana). It doesn’t matter if you use capital or lowercase letters but don’t use quote marks around words.

Categories and programs

Selecting more than one category will broaden your search and return more titles (eg Environment plus Natural History and Wildlife will list all titles in either category).

You can use keywords or program types to refine your search results. For example:

  • if you type a keyword and select a category or program type, it will only look for keyword matches within that category or program type (eg keyword Vietnam, category War and Military);
  • if you select a program type and a category, it will only look for that type of program within the selected category (eg program type Series, category Indigenous Australia);
  • if you select more than one program type your results will be restricted (eg New Releases and Single Documentaries: One Hour will list only newly released, one-hour programs
