About the Film Australia Collection Library online
- The Film Australia Collection Library is operated by the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA). The NFSA is the national audiovisual archive, collecting, preserving and sharing the nation’s moving image and recorded sound heritage.
- The FAC Library is a commercial archival and stock footage and stills library, operating as a service for clients in the screen industry, educational and cultural institutions and corporations. It represents the Film Australia Collection and materials from Screen Australia-funded National Documentary Program titles.
- The Film Australia Collection is a diverse range of over 5,000 titles of Australian documentary and educational programs, produced by the former Film Australia Ltd and its predecessor agencies or acquired from third party producers.
- This site represents a selection of documentary titles from the Film Australia Collection, allowing users to search, view and purchase footage and stills.
- Management of the Film Australia Collection was transferred from Screen Australia to the NFSA on 1 July 2011. Click here for more information about the transfer.
